Frederickson is where Pierce County stops being a city and has not quite decided to be countryside. The grass makes it harder still. Frederickson lots tend to be lawn rather than landscaping, and lawn that is not cut on a strict schedule gets long enough to swallow things whole. Add the fact that a lot of these properties sit open to the weather with little tree cover, and a wet week turns the low end of the yard into the part everybody avoids and the dog does not.

Getting there is the easy part. Frederickson runs on 176th Street East, and the Starbucks at Canyon Crossing is the landmark Marq uses to know he is close. From that intersection the residential streets open up fast in every direction, which makes this an efficient town to run a fixed route through as long as we know which gate we are using. Big lots reward frequency more than small ones do. Weekly service on a half acre with two dogs is not overkill, it is the difference between a twenty-minute visit and an hour of hunting. Bi-weekly is realistic for one dog on a well-cut lawn. If it has been a while, start with a one-time reset so we are working a known yard rather than an archaeological site, then pick a rhythm from there.
